ABB x Konstfack

The floor plan for the University College of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm transforms wayfinding into an interactive visual experience by integrating innovative lighting technology. Designed in collaboration with ABB and Thinlight, the map uses illuminated light cables that activate at the press of a button, guiding users through the building while providing additional information about each destination.

The creation process was meticulous and time-intensive, involving the careful engraving and sewing of light cables directly onto the map’s surface. The final result is both visually striking and highly functional—a seamless fusion of graphic design, cartography, and engineering that elevates a traditional floor plan into an engaging and dynamic navigation tool.
